FIRST CALL ENERGY: LESS THAN YESTERDAY UNI-ON OF CHAMBERS OF TURKISH ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS Chamber of Mechanical Engineers The 10. HVAC & Sanitary Congress and TESKON+SODEX Exhibition APRIL 13-16 2011, MMO TEPEKULE CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION CENTRE – İZMİR http://teskon.mmo.org.tr teskon@mmo.org.tr FOREWORD Initially, the National HVAC Engineering Congress was organized by TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers 18 years ago in Balçova Termal Facilities- İzmir between April 15 and 17, 1993. The fire that started with this meeting has expanded in many areas of the HVAC engineering. Such expansion has converted into associations, foundations, symposiums, seminars, books, magazines, training courses, exhibitions, true friendships. On April 13 2011, we as the HVAC engineers will get together one more time adding the new fire to the ones that we created before. OBJECTIVE The fundamental objective of National HVAC Engineering Congress is to provide the HVAC Engineering with the contribution in such respect: - to have the presentations and discussions on the scientific and technologic improvements of the basic and applied fields and other disciplines having the interaction with the installation engineering and communication;
- to have the discussions on trainings, researches, management, professional improvement, regulations and similar structure related to the installation engineering in our country;
- to apply the contemporary information and technologies by spreading over
Towards the above mentioned goals, the scientific and technological presentation and discussion platforms having different purposes shall be established on the 10th Congress. CONGRESS PLATFORMS - The scientific Research Sessions presenting the results of the fundamental theoretical researches carried out in the fundamental areas within the other disciplines having the interactions with the HVAC Engineering

ENERGY: LESS THAN YESTERDAY The theme is ENERGY: LESS THAN YESTERDAY and goal of Teskon 2011 is to discuss all kinds of developments in all fields of HVAC Engineering ranging from its theory to its application and its education under the pressure of depleting primary energy sources and global warming. The main goal of engineering is to increase the life quality of people starting with the lowest level of hierarchy of needs in each process at all times. Engineers produce tools and equipment by using energy and materials and provide them to people in order to serve this main goal. In this sense, it can be observed that the societies in which people use different amounts of energy and materials have reached different levels of living. One can observe that some of these societies live the ultimate life quality obtained by using the modern science and technology while some of them cannot meet their basic needs. The biggest reason of this difference between the life qualities is the economical differences. It is a known fact that societies with strong economy have higher life quality while societies with weak economy have lower life quality. Another fact is that the life qualities of all societies have increased with differences in terms of speed and proportion up to now. However, energy problems and thereof global warming problems that emerged in the last quarter of the twentieth century and reached to the twenty first century pose a thread by preventing people in economically developed counties to lead their life at the obtained level and underdeveloped societies to reach the level of developed societies at the least. Energy will be used less than yesterday due to the fact that the amount of energy based on conventional resources which we mostly depend on today will be lower than yesterday in the future. It will also be used less than yesterday as a necessity in order to solve global warming problems caused by present energy trend and to increase and make the life qualities of people homogeneous. In this context, all of our colleagues serving in the field of HVAC engineering should carry out comprehensive studies in all fields and parts of HVAC engineering that range from theory to training and establish intellectual sharing forums to provide interiorization of this fact. Therefore, the main theme of the conference has been chosen as ENERGY: LESS THAN YESTERDAY in every sense. Teskon 2011 supports original studies in all fields of Installation Engineering and aims to provide less use of energy which will be less than yesterday in the future by preserving and/or increasing our life quality, in other words to create more by using less. It calls for all kinds of studies in the field of installation engineering. TESKON + SODEX EXHIBITION Tepekule Convention and Exhibition Centre FAIR of teskon+Sodex X. National Conference on Installation Engineering and Fair of teskon+sodex The fair is organized by Hannover Messe Sodeks Fuarcılık A.Ş. Address: Beybi Giz Plaza, Dereboyu Cad. Meydan Sok. No: 28 Kat: 2 Daire: 3-4 Maslak - istanbul / TURKiYE Telephone: (0212) 290 33 33 Fax: (0212) 290 33 31-32 teskonSodex info@sodex.com.tr JOIN THE E-MAIL LIST of TESKON Many papers are published for announcements within the scope of National Conference on HVAC Engineering. It is a known fact that thread of climate change has led many organizations to apply savings measures in the sense of "reasonable living" while using energy sources. For this reason, an e-mail list is established in order to reduce the paper usage for announcements during Teskon 2011. You can join the e-mail list in order to be informed about the current developments regarding our conference. You should send a blank mail to teskon-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and "Forward" the received mail in order to join the e-mail list. DATE OF NOTIFICATION The deadlines regarding the notifications to be presented on the matters that will be discussed in the conference are given below. 08.10.2010 | Delivery of the summaries of the notifications to the conference secretariat | 01.11.2010 | Evaluation of the summaries of the notifications and informing their writers about the results | 21.01.2011 | Delivery of the notifications to the conference secretariat | 01.03.2011 | Evaluation of the notifications and informing their writers about the results | Note: The dates above are deadlines.
